The
diagram below shows how the Australian Bureau of Meteorology collects
up-to-the-minute information on the weather in order to produce reliable
forecasts.
The diagram describes
the process of creating weather forecast.
In general, the process undergoes
a variety of steps from collecting, analyzing to broadcasting with the aid of different
equipment.
To specify, in the first step,
incoming information is collected from several sources which include satellite, radar and drifting
buoy. Each respective
source is supposed to produce information in the form of satellite
photos, radar screen and synoptic chart. Then, after being analyzed and processed, such
information taken from sources is computerized in preparation for broadcast. Subsequently, audience
can receive weather forecast reports in number of ways. People who often listen
to radio predict weather by hearing via radio whereas television watchers know it through TV
newsreader. Meanwhile, recorded
announcement is provided for telephone users.
Interestingly, only by dint of numerous
sources of information and steps of analysis can normal people be availably
offered reliable weather reports and actively plan their life.
