which areas witness the most significant development and which areas witness the least significant development?

ĐỀ 06-04-2013
A hundred years ago, people think that human race is steadily improving in every area of life. Now it seems this is not certain in that situation. In which areas do you think we have made important progress nowadays? In which areas do you think we still need to make progress?

PROS
Health care- cure diseases
Technology-transform people’s lives
CONS
Environment- natural disaster
Business ethics

Countries all over the world have seen leaps in different areas. The most significant change for the better is seen in technology while environment is still a matter of major concern. My essay will state the most developing field and the least one that needs actions.

Technology and health care have been revolutionized amazingly. Only by a simple click can the entire world be seen in front of eyes from communication to online learning systems. Besides, no longer do women have to do drudgery work with the appearance of washing machine while they can bury themselves in hours of automatic massage device. In addition, the past was fraught with diseases that took lives of millions of people like small pox, cancer and others, but these have been gone for good as a result of medical innovations that slow down diseases and immunize people against these menaces. Furthermore, by dint of better health-care system, the rate of diseases is minimized and people are able to live longer up to 20 years older, according to a recent demographic study.

On the other hand, there are areas that draw great attention from people. Specifically, environment, despite several efforts by governments, still stagnates. In developing countries in which their economy booms at a staggering speed, such concerns as dust, traffic congestion and noise pollution drive people crazy and result in a higher number of people suffering respiration diseases. Meanwhile, global warming and greenhouse effect still occur in developed nations, although they are past the stage of overheating growth. Hence, it is time that the whole world cooperated in the war against environmental threat by coming up with international environment treaty to limit the amount of waste and educate citizens to protect their surrounding. Business ethic is also worthy of mention. Along with higher income and living standards, people can afford better physical lives, at the expense of their morality. It is hard to conclude that what the exact way is to purify business environment which is inherently complicated and competitively unfair. My suggestion is that governments should introduce business ethics as a compulsory subject at school, and at the same time, impose harsh punishment on any action of cheating customers, exaggerating quality and organizational embezzlement.

What is an ideal society ?

ĐỀ 21/9/2013
Throughout history, people have dreamed about perfect society, but they have not agreed what an ideal society is . What do you think the most important elements to have perfect society in modern world? how people can achieve an ideal society?

Elements
- equality
- no war
- no economic financial crisis
- enough food and good health
To achieve
- work hard
- live within moral boundaries
- restrain endless greed

Utopian societies are often contemplated by idealists, and some countries in the world have succeeded in building them. In my view, to reach the stage of so-called perfect society, there are several necessary elements required, and my essay will discuss factors and ways to obtain such societies for good.

Looking back on the past, we all know how painful people were in the struggle against natural disasters. There were millions of people dying within seconds, but no sooner does prediction department of the earth come into being than humans suffer less and avoid the most damaging consequences. Another reason that drives the world crazy until today is the lack of equality in treatment in certain parts of the world and groups of people. History has shown that the black and white killed each other because the former received the worst treatment like animals from the latter. Until now, cases of women being physically and mentally abused in work places are seen. Only when people learn to treat each other with equal respect can we attain an ideal society, I believe. Furthermore, people's ceaseless and endless greed to have more money and re-order the world have been main culprits of devastating this peaceful planet- the Earth. From the first, second to nuclear wars, millions of deaths have been recorded, and what is the meaning of having a bigger land at the expense of human suffering? Currently, to maximize profit, people have rushed into housing and stock markets, followed by a series of crisis as well. In other words, the best world is built upon equality, no war and no financial meltdown.

The question is how to obtain such a goal? Individually speaking, each person should lead himself or herself in a life within boundary. Imagine that if we all try to defeat each other for economic living, can we all survive and enjoy sustainable development? While working hard to earn our living, we need to know that our winning should be gained as long as others can win. From the early childhood, my recommendation is that children should be brought up with the idea of balancing their soul and restraining their greed. Parents, beside encouraging to gain knowledge and skills to be independent, teach them moral lessons about life, humanity and interdependence as well. Politically speaking, it is time that governments around the world sit in one table to discuss clear-cut solutions to put an end to their wars, conflicts and other international concerns. Is it worth for these governments to harbor hatred against each other and go into the war, but see their normal citizens lose their lives for them? At the same time, for those countries which already reach the utopian period like North Eastern Europe, please pay more attention to the third-world by popularizing their country model and sponsoring these poor nations with medical and educational help.

In brief, we all crave for an ideal society, but we all know that it is still a long way to go. Let's take action to build such a society on the basis of discussed principles, including, integrity, morality, equality and win-win thinking.

The modern world is more dependent or independent on each other?

ĐỀ 26/8/2013
Some people think that the modern world is becoming more and more dependent on each other, but others claim that people is becoming more independent on each other. Discuss and give your own opinion.

Dependent
- financial crisis affects the world
- suffer more pressure and need connection
-high rate of marriage even in developed countries
- the prevalence of contacting tools to be connected with each other
Independent
- economically independent
- avoid personal conflicts
- try to gain political and economic autonomy

Whether humans become more or less dependent in the modern world remains controversial. Some people think that as result of higher living standards, people can live more independently while others claim that the pressure of modern life forces people to be closer to each other to avoid stress. My essay will discuss both sides of the issue

There are some reasons for people to believe in growing independence of the modern world. First, it is argued that with better education, people can find jobs easily and earn enough living. Hence, they tend to live far away from their families and settle in other places to search for new opportunities. Second, as a result of wanting to avoid personal conflicts, people desire to have freedom of their own. The interference of other people from beloved members of family to neighbors can distract their work and complicate their lives. That is why the common knowledge is that neighbors in big cities often have little idea about each others' name and personal lives. At a macro-level, even nations which ever economically and politically depended on others have tried their best over the years to gain autonomy by all means like Singapore away from British control and Thailand from American domination. In other words, the sense of independence is more desirable for citizens and countries.

Nevertheless, others argue that actually people become more dependent without their acknowledgement. As a consequence of suffering the sense of overload and pressure in the modern life, a greater number of people feel tired, actually take part in more social activities and expect to regain a sense of belonging. More socializing and support clubs are established in big cities to connect people and give them solace. Furthermore, surveys have shown that despite people's longing for personal freedom, the number of marriages remains still high even in developed countries, which shows that people somehow prefer couples' life to single one. In a bigger scale, the financial crisis in America happened, followed by the collapse of other economies. This proves that countries, although being economically and political strong, still depend on each other. Technologically speaking, the prevalence of face-book and cutting edge mobile phones is evident of the fact that the need for contact never ceases and escalates amazingly in the modern world. People still rely on each other for emotional support and economic opportunities as well.

In brief, it is up to people to choose the lifestyle they want, but the truth is that we sometimes look for an escape to enjoy true freedom and at the same time want to belong somewhere to perceive our presence.

Countries are becoming similar . Causes, advantages, disadvantages ??

ĐỀ  17-11-2012
Countries are becoming similar. What are causes, and in your view, what are advantages and disadvantages of this trend?

Causes
- Globalization
- Economic integration
- Historical invasion
- Technological innovation
Advantages
- Save money in travelling
- Share knowledge and culture more easily
Disadvantages
- Boring
- Cause economic loss to tourism
- Discourage people to learn new things

The world is flatter. Some people think that there is nothing to discover anymore in this modern world while others think that this trend is conducive to saving people’s money in traveling. My essay will shed light on reasons, pros and cons of this trend.

There are some factors making our world homogeneous. As a result of the booming in technology, people are instantly connected no matter where they are and discover the world of culture at ease through the window of internet. Besides, when businessmen have tried to expand their market ceaselessly, their products appear ubiquitous to the point that people from different walks are somehow affected. For instance, only in Vietnam can you consume global reputed products such as KFC, Toyota and other international products, which results in rising cultural similarities between countries. Historical invasion, though having gone, still leave cultural footprints around the world and renders nations to be the same in culture. Through Vietnam, again, it is well seen with the image of French cuisine or Chinese architecture after these nations invaded Vietnam years ago.

Advantages and disadvantages are noticeable. On one hand, this trend reduces people’s expense for travelling since they find that there is no urge to go somewhere to explore the world. In addition, developing and poor nations whose culture is backward learn good quintessence from other countries to become more civilized and richer. Since people speak the same cultural code, mutual understanding might be nurtured and religious or war conflicts inevitably happen less. However, would the world be as exciting as we imagine when things around turn similar? Furthermore, no sooner have countries imitated cultures of each other than tourism is the industry suffering most. The need to enrich knowledge, learn the differences and respect these is stifled. To some extent, people’s privacy of a specific nation is put in danger, since their actions are internationally deciphered easily due to the homogeneous culture.
